The Royal Buddhist Mantra – Om Mani Padme Hum

Om Mani Padme Hum is the most famous mantra in Tibetan Buddhism, sometimes called the Royal Mantra or the Mantra of Life Energy. A mantra, broadly speaking, is a word or sound believed to carry special spiritual power, often repeated to express and strengthen a particular belief. It’s said that the whole of the Buddha’s teaching is contained within this single mantra — though it can’t truly be reduced to one simple phrase or sentence.

Om (or Aum) is the primordial sound of all creation. It’s said to help dissolve the ego and cultivate kindness and generosity.

Golden Sheen Obsidian

Those inclusions form naturally as the glass cools, and no two beads catch the light quite the same way. Like all obsidian, it is a natural glass, formed when hot lava cools rapidly on the Earth’s surface, and has been used by people since the Stone Age, when hunters shaped its sharp fragments into weapon tips. The ancient Aztecs valued this stone highly, calling it the “God’s Stone” — their sacred dagger, used in ritual offerings to the gods, was made from obsidian. Black onyx, black tourmaline, and black obsidian are all considered traditional protective stones because of their dark colour.
