Akvamarin – Jelentése
Aquamarine takes its name from the Latin “aqua marina” — sea water — and it is easy to see why: its clear, pale blue-green looks like sunlight falling through a calm, shallow sea. For as long as people have sailed, that likeness has tied aquamarine to the ocean.
Sailors once carried it as a protective amulet, believed to keep them safe on the water and grant a calm voyage home; old legend held that the stone was the treasure of mermaids — or the fossilised tears they wept for lost sailors — and so was thought to lose none of its power near the sea. Merchants and travellers valued it for safe passage and honest dealings along long trade routes. In the Middle Ages it became a stone of love as well, used to rekindle affection between married couples and given as a classic wedding-anniversary gift.
Beyond the sea, aquamarine is a stone of clear, calm communication. It resonates with the throat chakra, easing the fear of speaking and helping you express yourself honestly and gently, even in difficult moments — the same level clarity a sailor needs to keep a cool head in a storm. Wearers reach for it for courage, calm and truthful speech. In our own tradition it even shines in the Czech Crown Jewels, set into the St. Wenceslas Crown.
