Serpentinite – Meaning
Serpentinite gets its name from its resemblance to snake skin, echoed in its green, scale-like patterns. The ancient Romans wore it for protection against magic, and in the Middle Ages, it was used to make bowls and containers for storing medicines like herbal remedies, in the belief that the stone’s energy would strengthen their healing power. It was long carried as a protective amulet, its serpent-green colour linked in folklore to renewal and shedding the old.
Serpentinite is said to give off a naturally soothing energy that can help awaken Kundalini, the coiled life-force energy believed to rest at the base of the spine, gently helping body and mind adjust as that energy rises. Serpentinite is also said to increase happiness and support progress towards both personal and professional goals.
