Rhodochrosite – Meaning
The name rhodochrosite comes from the Greek words “rhodos,” meaning pink, and “khros,” meaning colour — a fitting name for a stone prized for its distinctive banded pink-and-white layering, quite different from plainer, cheaper pink stones. It is the national stone of Argentina, home to the largest natural deposits of this distinctively banded gem.
Rhodochrosite is valued for its calming energy, believed to soothe the heart and soul and help you move through emotional difficulty. It is said to help release old, unresolved feelings held in the Solar Plexus chakra, restoring a sense of wholeness and strengthening the will to shape a new chapter.
