Black Tourmaline – Meaning
An ancient Egyptian legend describes the long journey tourmaline made from the earth’s core to its surface, passing through the rainbow along the way — which is said to be why it can be found in so many colours and shades. It’s a charming story, and not so far from the truth, since tourmaline really does occur in a wide range of colours.
Black onyx, black tourmaline, and black obsidian are all considered traditional protective stones because of their dark colour.
