Tiger’s Eye – Meaning
Tiger’s eye has been carried as a talisman since ancient times. During the height of the Egyptian empire, it was used for the eyes of statues of Egyptian gods, earning it the nickname “the all-knowing, all-seeing eye.” In ancient Egypt, tiger’s eye represented divinity and protection, combining the power of the earth and the sun — linked to Ra, the Sun God, and Geb, the God of the Earth and father of all the gods.
Roman soldiers wore tiger’s eye into battle, believing it would give them courage — part of why it is still considered a stone for men, bringing out the spirit of the courageous warrior. In the 16th century, African tribes valued this stone even more highly than gold.
Tiger’s eye is said to dispel negativity, and its golden colour is linked to prosperity, wealth, and social standing. It represents the sun and a natural pull towards warmth and quiet confidence. Its strong, grounding, and positive energy also makes it a good companion for deep meditation.
