Chrysanthemum gemstone – meaning
This gemstone got the name from its patterns that resemble flowers. These patterns are made in fact by fossilized corals and shells. The correct name of this stone is “agatized coral” or “agatized fossil coral”. The mineral was formed by a natural process during which prehistoric dead coral shells deposited on the seabed in silicon-rich waters and were gradually replaced by agate, chalcedony or microcrystalline quartz for over 20 million years. For this reason, fossil corals should not be confused with today’s corals from endangered coral reefs. Fossil corals are also much heavier and harder than coral shells from the current coral reefs.
These beads can occur in various color patterns, but most often in white, pink, brown, gray or beige. Many of these fossils can look exactly as they did when they were alive, only now in fossilized form.
This gemstone is considered to be a stone of harmony that can encourages you to slow down and enjoy the present moments rather than to live in neurotic stress. It symbolizes freedom, purity and helps to find satisfaction in meaningful work.
