Aquamarine
The name Aquamarine comes from Latin words “aqua marinus”, meaning “sea water”. The name refers to the color of this stone, which resembles sea water foamed from the waves. Aquamarine in the human mind evokes the purity of clear water, and at the same time a state of deep relaxation that brings the sound of sea waves hitting the coast. It is a cleansing and calming gemstone that encourages trust and truth. In the ancient tradition, aquamarine was considered to be fossilized tears of mermaids and was used by sailors as a lucky charm for fearlessness and protection.
In the Middle Ages, Aquamarine was used as a stone of love to help spark the passion of married couples again. It was therefore one of the most popular gemstones for jewellery as a marriage anniversary gift. Aquamarine was even used for the most spectacular jewellery, such as for example the St. Wenceslas Crown from the Czech Crown Jewels.
Combining with the Throat Chakra, aquamarine helps overcome the fear of speaking and is an excellent stone for speakers. It also allows you to speak clearly and without anger in difficult situations.
