This purple crystallized quartz was a highly valued gemstone until large deposits were discovered in Latin America. Its royal reputation dates back centuries across several European courts. Looking back through history, we find that ancient Egyptians carried amethyst into battle to boost their courage, while in the Middle Ages, kings and bishops wore it as a symbol of majesty.
Amethyst is a symbol of many positive qualities, such as prosperity, courage, mental purity, and friendship. Leonardo da Vinci, for example, believed this stone helps control negative thoughts, strengthens intelligence, speeds up thinking, and brings a positive outcome to business negotiations.
