African turquoise – meaning
African turquoise is not a real turquoise, it is in fact a special variety of jasper. This special african jasper is much harder and less expensive, and thats why it is ideal affordable alternative of real turquoise for everyday wearing. It contains dark crystalline quartz, copper and iron that give this mineral its hardness and interesting patterns.
